First of all, to be honest, I’ve never been interested in Chilean issues until this year, I’ve always been in a private school and without knowing the problems behind the education, so I wasn’t involved in the educational strikes, I wasn’t even aware of the socio-economic breach that, alongside the end of the PSU (a test that assigns the student a score based on the performance obtained on three main test, mathematics, language and history or science (science, subsequently subdivides in biology, physics and chemistry), and this scores are averaged to obtain a single one, this unique score is later compared to the minimum average score proposed by all the different universities, and thus, the student applies to the career he/she wants), the gratuity of the university, and others projects are what the students are fighting and hitting the streets for.
This year as a student of Universidad de Chile, I think it’s necessary to get involved in the movement, and support my peers, to make a social change, a better country for me, my friends and the future students.
Until this day, the only thing that I’ve done to support this movement it’s going to the multiple strikes and trying to convince to the people to go and participate of the strikes.
From now on i'll try to participate more in the movement, also talk with people and share opinions.
