First of all, to be honest, I’ve never been interested in Chilean issues until this year, I’ve always been in a private school and without knowing the problems behind the education, so I wasn’t involved in the educational strikes, I wasn’t even aware of the socio-economic breach that, alongside the end of the PSU (a test that assigns the student a score based on the performance obtained on three main test, mathematics, language and history or science (science, subsequently subdivides in biology, physics and chemistry), and this scores are averaged to obtain a single one, this unique score is later compared to the minimum average score proposed by all the different universities, and thus, the student applies to the career he/she wants), the gratuity of the university, and others projects are what the students are fighting and hitting the streets for.
This year as a student of Universidad de Chile, I think it’s necessary to get involved in the movement, and support my peers, to make a social change, a better country for me, my friends and the future students.
Until this day, the only thing that I’ve done to support this movement it’s going to the multiple strikes and trying to convince to the people to go and participate of the strikes.
From now on i'll try to participate more in the movement, also talk with people and share opinions.

Sexism
When I saw
Isabel Allende’s talk, “Tales of passion”, you can see how woman fight, maybe
you can’t see it around you, or in your country, but is happening, woman are
against of discrimination and they have to tolerate the abuse in some parts of
the world, they have to keep their mouth shouted, or wait them with the launch
made, or even endure their abuses. Like Isabel says, woman have to fight back,
to be brave, and to be passionate, to move forwards and left behind the
discrimination against the sexism and drop the responsibilities that men have putted
in their shoulders and have the freedom to choose how to make his life without
social obstacles, they just have to realize what position they have in this
society an which one they really want to have. Is not easy to face and beat the
reality but it will be impossible if you don’t try.
In Chile,
this issue isn’t solved yet, we have not even progressed to fix this gender
inequality, and there are women who are tired of the disrepute that have, they
win less than men in jobs, they can’t play some sports, they are seen as sexual
objects or the weaker sex, and many others problems, and prejudices that
affects their daily life in their lifetime. I think that the only way to finish
with this war of sex is time, I mean, educate our children and to future
generations, so that both sexes can live without prejudice or complications, i wich i cuould stay alive to watch that happen.

The necessary abilities to be an architect
If you ask
me, there’s no importance if you are the best drawer, or you can’t take a
pencil. There’s no difference in an abstract maquette and in an ugly one. There’s
no relevance if you’re creative or you need “something” to be creative. It
doesn’t matter if you don’t memory every word in the architect glossary,
because the only thing an architect needs is the ability to fly, if you can’t
see what’s happening around the city, what the city needs, or what the city is,
you need to fly, see things with another perspective, from the air, when you’re
enough high, you can be an architect, be one with the space. If you don’t know how
people feel, how people is, what are the people problems and desires the
architect should fly higher, see everything, how does the place works, or why
it doesn’t work and try to fix it. An architect also must be perseverant,
follow their dreams and don’t give up until reach his goal.

Starting the University!
Well, it was a hard decision for me, I’m not
actually a 100% convinced, but it may be a good choice. The choice of studying
architecture started like three month before the PSU, just because I was good
at math and art, my family respect my opinion, but my father wanted me to be an
engineer, like him and my brother, I didn’t wanted to because I think that I’m
a creative person, and being an architect was the best way to use that capacity,
also explore it, My first postulation where in Universidad Católica, and when I
knew the results of the postulations I thought that everything was over. But
well,it didn't happen, now I’m in this university, “Universidad de Chile”, and if you ask me, I don’t
regret anything, the people are amazing, I’ve already made friends, and I spend
a lot of time with them, wet met each other in the first day of classes, and
nothing has separated us, except for workshop. The first week we were dedicated
to have fun, that’s mean having parties and stuff, and that’s mean drinking
alcohol and smoking a lot of things. There were another week called “semana
mechona”, and, according to my opinion, it’s basically the same as the first
week, but with live music. After these exhausting hours of fun we started classes,
and this time was serious, by my point of view, it’s overwhelming, we have to
spend a lot of money, and we only have been one month here, I ask myself, how
would be the rest of the semester?. But well, despite this, I feel comfortable
here, I’m absolutely convinced that this choice may be the right choice, why
not? The teachers are good, thanks to them this university is known as one of
the best universities of Chile, so now I just have to go ahead and face what
comes.

Vacations Away
This Holidays I didn't spend a lot of time in my house, between january and february i went to Pichilemu and Viña del Mar with friends, i also went to Pucon with my family. While i was spending time with my friends in Pichilemu and Viña i used to spend a lot of money in wine and cigarrets, and stuff like that, so i didn't had enough money for food. But in the other side, in Pucon, food wasn't a preocupation, so i still could buy wine and cigarrets whithout being hungry, having a pretty good time, going to discos and meeting interesting people. In fact in one disco i recognized a famous guy, called "El Pollo Castillo", he is a chilean Youtuber. Pucon is a city where you can relax, it can be in the lake, or in the thermal springs, but also there are some extreme activities, like rafting, canopy, mountain climbing and kayak, at the end, when i come back to Rancagua, i was really tired my friends invited me to go again to Pichilemu for a week, but i refused, because i didnt wanted to go out again, also i didnt had enough money. maybe the next holidays i'll have more money to go out, but probably my liver will get worst if that happen.
